For me, good Italian food is like visiting a grandmother I never met but yearned for my whole life.

This is not too dissimilar from the traditional Italian diet which includes a lot of cheese, pasta and wheat breads.

It’s true that there are some dishes in Russia that do not exist in Italy (borscht) while there are many dishes in Italy that don’t really have an equivalent dish in Russia (lasagna).

However it should be noted that Russians love their meat as much as Italians do.

Both cultures use rice or pasta as their main carbohydrate, meat is a key ingredient, and vegetables provide added flavor to the meal.

In Russia people eat pelmeni (a type of dumpling), while Italians enjoy ravioli.

Cabbage is used for both salads and coleslaw-style dishes, providing an interesting twist to the traditional salad bar.

Which one is better?

There are many different opinions about which cuisine is better, Russian or Italian.

Some people say that Russian food is much more flavorful and healthier than Italian due to the use of fresh ingredients in their dishes.

Others say that Italian food tastes much better because it has a unique flavor profile which makes it easier to digest.
